Advocating for Road Safety: Penny’s Crossing

Led by the dedicated efforts of Penny Ralph, residents of Harcourt Road have tirelessly advocated for the addition of a pedestrian crossing for over a decade. In 2017, their persistence paid off when the proposal was approved during Sheffield City Council’s Highway Cabinet Member Decision Session.

The current crossing at Crookesmoor Road/Barber Road/Crookes Valley Road is recognised by Harcourt Rd residents as “Penny’s Crossing.”
