Harcourt Road :   Collecting and Showcasing parallel histories of Community Organising in two streets of the same name In Sheffield and Hong Kong

Zine Workshop

On the last day of the exhibition, participants were invited to a free workshop led by C & G to produce a collective handscroll.

Typically depicting a landscape or other scenes in nature, this workshop is based on a traditional Chinese painting format that one literally ‘scrolls’ through to experience the image. Using a series of prompts, C&G Artpartment led the group through a drawing exercise to produce a long-form visual piece. The resulting works will become the basis of an experimental zine that documents the learning from the ‘Harcourt Road’ project.

We have taken inspiration from the stories and objects in the gallery and, through careful facilitation, drew and made an image together, reflecting on what it means to create community, to listen and struggle alongside one another.
