In the 1970s, Hong Kong’s economy In the 1970s, Hong Kong’s economy experienced rapid industrialization, becoming a global manufacturing hub, particularly in textiles, electronics, and toys. The city’s export-driven growth, coupled with a rise in foreign investment, laid the foundation for its transformation into a major international financial center.

喺1970年代,香港經濟經歷咗快速嘅工業化,成為全球製造業中心,特別係紡織、電子同玩具業。依靠出口帶動嘅增長,加上外資湧入,為香港轉型成為主要國際金融中心打下咗基礎。

Proposed by the People’s Republic of China in 1972, the Special Committee of Decolonisation at the UN removed Hong Kong from the list of non-self-governing territories. As a result, Hong Kong lost its eligibility for UN support in the process of decolonization and self-governance. Since then, the UK government ceased submitting reports on Hong Kong to the Special Committee on Decolonisation.

1972年,中華人民共和國向「聯合國去殖民化特別委員會」提出,將香港從「非自治領土名單」中撤除。香港被撤出名單後,就無咗聯合國正式監察香港去殖同自決嘅進程。而英國政府亦自此,停止向聯合國去殖民化特別委員會提交有關香港嘅去殖進度嘅報告。
