1941-1945 WWII - Sheffield

 

During WWII, a number of houses on the street were split into flats to accommodate people bombed out of their homes. They were turned into permanent HMOs (‘houses in multiple occupation’) often providing lodgings for single working men, particularly from Irelend and Eastern Europe.

二戰期間,唔少房屋被分拆成單位,安置因戰亂而無家可歸嘅人。戰後, 呢啲屋永久分拆成多個單位,為嚟自愛爾蘭同東歐嘅單身打工仔提供住宿。
