Harcourt Road appeared in 1870-1880s. It is named after Sir William George Granville Venables Vernon Harcourt (1827-1904), who was born in York. He was the Home Secretary in 1880-5, and Chancellor of the Exchequer in 1886 and 1892-5.

錫菲夏慤道正式出現。取名於威廉·夏慤爵士(1827-1904),佢出生於約克,喺1880-1885年擔任內政大臣、1886年同1892-1895年為財政大臣。
